Once one of my obese friends came to me to discuss about the problems he was facing in his daily life. He was so upset that he could not figure out the ways out to get rid of this obesity. He was ready to do anything bestowed upon him. He achieved a firm belief that it was not curable though. But I insisted that obesity was curable by maintaining a disciplined life. He was so much excited ande said He sa said please show me the way out of this problem. I would make it within a month. He was so crazy to get his fit body back. I could realize how terribly it was affecting his daily life.
This is not just found in the male but also in the female alongside. Few days ago health professional friend of mine was sharing his experience with me. He said one of his female patients lost 25 pounds within a couple of months, but she was not satisfied with the amount. She wanted to lose another 25 pounds within a month. My friend was just unable to make her understand that it was too much to achieve within a month.
Remember always one thing about losing weight, it is not a process like you could to throw it off in a week and get it back in another week. It is very unrealistic approach. For achieving weight loss goal you have to develop set realistic strategies and goals. These must not be absurd.
As you already have known from my previous discussion, that losing weight is a lengthy process. So it requires a long term planning. To make this plan deployable, you need to divide your plan in a small part. Think about what you can achieve within a month. If you succeed to achieve celebrate this success. It will give you pleasure for losing some more weight and motivate you to start the next part of the plan.
Try to remember what you would do when you were fit and at the same time find out what you do now after being overweight. Comparing the differences you will understand where the faults are. For instance, may be five years back you would go to office on foot. But now you are using car. Even you are using escalator to go upstairs. Restore the old habits to get back to the healthy and happy life.
Developing a realistic goal is incorporated with the whole lifestyle. Once you catch the rhythm of this healthy lifestyle you will be accustomed to it. You cannot perform workout 3 hours every day in a week. If you tend to do this all on a sudden, then you might have to lie on bed for illness in another week. Moreover, you cannot reduce your meal substantially overnight. It will make you more hungry, which will result in eating some more fat rich foods.
So making realistic goals to lose weight you need to find out some strategies. These strategies will help you to stick to the process. These strategies are-
Be committed with yourself
Your head, your headache; for losing weight and make this process achievable one needs to be committed with oneself. You don’t need to commit with your family or friends. Because you know how much determined you are. You can lie with others but you can’t lie to yourself.
Once you are determined you have to motivate yourself. You can find plenty of examples of achieving slim body by setting realistic goals. Figure out the motivating factors. Imagine a figure you will achieve after certain period of time. For example, you love to wear black suit with red tie. When you wear these nowadays, the tie peeps from the suits due to extra belly fat. Just dream how smart you would be looking after putting on your favorite suit in fit body.
Have quality food
Having quality food is the half of this strategy. Try to leave some food in your plate in every meal you take. This tiny habit will benefit you at large. Increase the amount of vegetable in every meal. Don’t eat too much at a time. Take smaller meals frequently throughout the day.
Keep yourself busy. Don’t sit idly more than an hour. Even if you are watching television, try to stand and walk for a few minutes. Do all the household works by yourself. When you are going to a short distance, go on foot. Avoid taking escalators to go upstairs. All these habits will help your body to convey oxygen to the every parts of body. You can take your pet for a walk in the evening. It will make you moving in cheering mood. You can also play with your children. All these entertaining activities will help you to achieve your daily exercise goals.
At last I can say that I have tried to make the weight losing process easily achievable on the basis of the real life experience. It’s not like you see a dream of having a fit body and you have it. It’s a dream that you have to nourish to stay fit for the rest of your life. Evaluating your strengths and weaknesses, set a long term realistic plan according to your ability.
